Tutoring

My Approach to Tutoring

My tutoring style is patient, structured, and encouraging. I create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, expressing uncertainty, and growing at their own pace. Whether someone is struggling with the basics or wants to dive deeper into a complex topic, I adapt my approach to meet them where they are.

I see tutoring as more than just teaching – it’s about partnership. I don’t just explain concepts; I work alongside my students to help them develop tools they can use independently. The goal is not only to succeed on a given assignment or exam, but to build academic confidence and long-term skills.

I also pay attention to emotional and motivational aspects. Academic work can feel overwhelming, especially under pressure. That’s why I always approach my sessions with empathy and a genuine interest in the person behind the task.

Subjects I Support

My expertise covers a wide range of topics within the behavioral and cognitive sciences. I support students in:

  • Psychology: including general, clinical, cognitive, and developmental psychology
  • Neuroscience: with a focus on perception, consciousness, and mental health
  • Statistics & Research Methods: from basic concepts to more advanced statistical analysis (frequentist and Bayesian approaches)
  • Scientific Writing & Academic Projects: including support for bachelor’s and master’s theses, presentations, and research papers

I also assist with formulating research questions, understanding literature, interpreting results, and improving scientific communication – always with an emphasis on clarity and rigor.

My Tutoring Journey

I began tutoring in 2021 during my master’s studies in Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Amsterdam. What started as a side activity quickly grew into something deeply meaningful and intellectually fulfilling.

At first, I worked with high school students in a range of subjects – including English, biology, mathematics, and statistics. I enjoyed translating complex ideas into digestible formats and witnessing how a small moment of clarity could lead to a huge boost in confidence. Over time, my tutoring naturally shifted toward supporting university students – particularly those studying psychology, neuroscience, and related disciplines. I found that I could offer not only subject-specific support, but also guidance in structuring academic work, developing scientific thinking, and managing the psychological side of academic pressure.

Today, I work primarily with students at the bachelor’s and master’s level. I specialize in helping them tackle academic challenges, navigate research methods and statistics, and craft well-structured theses and reports. My tutoring is tailored, flexible, and always centered around the learner’s individual needs.

Where and How I Tutor

Most of my tutoring is offered online, allowing flexibility and accessibility for students across different cities and even countries. I work with students from diverse academic backgrounds, universities, and programs. I offer my services primarily through the platform Superprof, where students can easily reach out to me, view reviews, and schedule sessions based on their needs. However, feel free to reach out to me directly through my contact form as well.

Whether it’s preparing for an exam, clarifying a confusing topic, or completing a thesis – I’m here to help students feel more grounded, capable, and curious in their academic journey.
